To open my eyes

in a world

of misconception.

To dance

to a cherished tune,

a melody of life,

without deception.

 

To open my eyes

and walk

with trust.

To sing

a song of praise

in hope of a future

without lust.

 

To open my eyes

and embrace

the day.

To dream—

dream of peace

and happiness,

as I travel life’s highway.
